the last thing the Arabs want or the anti-Israels, proof in archaeological evidence.

Until there are churches and synagogues in Muslim countries, the war will continue of some front.
Putting the Dome of the Rock on that site was just a way to claim it as superior and final. It reminds me of the story a psychologist friend told me. His daughter worked in Barnes and Noble. She quit because a Muslim came in and told them that the Koran had to be on the top shelf, no book higher.
Barnes and Noble did the politically correct "grab the ankles hold" and caved in.
At the time, I didn't give the story much importance. I thought of it as a lone nut that they had pacified. Now I know better.
The Muslims have the same problem in India where there is a Muslim temple on a former holy site of the Hindus, and it drives the fundamentalist Hindus nuts.
Driving them nuts, that was the original objective. Join or be humiliated.

Hi Roy,
This rubble was just dumped in a garbage dump until Israel antiquities archeologists got wind of this and collected approximately a hundred truck loads and hauled to the site that Yoram went to for the interview. Most of the finds supported the obvious contention that there was a Jewish presence on the Temple Mount.
But denial by the Muslim clergy just continues in the face of all evidence to the contrary.

The Templars seized it when they won Jerusalem and stabled their horses there. Quite the place for making "statements".
Mohammed, just for some of you who might not know, once had the Muslims facing Jerusalem to pray and only later changed it to Mecca.
That holy site was important as the key site in the most holy city before the tale of Mohammed's being ascended into heaven from the rock there on the Temple Mount for him.
The rejection of Islam by the Jews and the Christians whom he had attempted to proselytize, lead him to change the most holy city to Mecca.

You got it. That is exactly what happened according to the historians. Once the Jews of Medina rejected his offer to follow him he turned in anger to face Mecca and his ass then faced Jerusalem. I think he was a bit upset.
