The revival and survival of the photographic film
The high speed development of digital cameras and improvement of picture quality, cost and simplicity of workflow have put the now what expensive and slow pase of working with film to a quick and violent death, or has it?
Among the "pixelpeepers" that stare themselves blind at 100% crops of full-frame picture files from the latest generation of semi-pro class cameras, a new generation of film-lovers is growing stronger each day.The unexplainable quality and feeling that only film seem to bring has made me leave my digital camera at home and invest in expensive polariod film and the newer fujifilm natura film in combination with the fujifilm natura classica compact camera, the 1600 iso film light sensetivity and non-pixly high performance results in pictures that beats any digital compact camera at this time, so i have no longer the "need" to upgrade anymore, which is very liberating.
How long this love will last i don´t know, but as long as companies like fuji film keep their promise to keep producing film and new film cameras, and the many pools at flickr, among others, keep overflowing with inspirational pictures from different film and cameras i have no doubt the interest in film will continue.
