Glamour Magazine's recently crowned Woman of the Year for 2009, Barbadian-born Rihanna sat down for an interview with, ABC World News anchor-to-be, Diane Sawyer and talked for the first time, openly, about the beating incident involving ex-boyfriend Chris Brown prior to the Grammy Awards in February of 2009.

The interview will air both Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6, on Good Morning America as well as Friday evening on 20/20. Coincidentally enough, Rihanna's candid interview airs just as her latest single, Russian Roulette, drops and mere weeks before her fourth studio album, Rated R, hits shelves on November 23. Furthermore, the interview comes just shy of a month before Chris Brown's forthcoming album, Graffiti, makes it's way to stores just in time for Christmas on December 15, 2009; sabotage anyone?

Back in August, Brown was sentenced to five years worth of probation, six months of community service, and a year of counselling for domestic violence after pleading guilty to charges of felony assault.

What do you think? Is Rihanna being brave for talking openly about her personal drama or is she taking advantage of public sympathy for the sake of public relations?

I am glad that she is talking to the public. I hope she doesn't get in trouble with Justin. I hope the media is not using Rhianna as a person who is the cause of a couple that could have been together permanently, the impending reason for a split.
