Online celebrity site celebricious.com is reporting that Rihanna will testify against boyfriend Chris Brown if subpoenaed by the state of California.

Rihanna’s lawyer has confirmed she will testify against her boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, if she is subpoenaed to appear in court.

Chris Brown allegedly assaulted Rihanna after she discovered a racy text message to him from Tina Davis.  Tina Davis is Chris Brown's manager and rumored former lover.

The assault occurred as Rihanna and Brown were coming home from a pre-Grammy party the night before the award show.  Both stars canceled their appearances at the show and Rihanna went in to hiding.

Pictures later surfaced on the website TMZ.com showing a badly bruised Rihanna.  The pictures were leaked to TMZ by somebody associated with the investigation into the incident.  An inquiry is still underway as to how the evidence photos ended up in the press.

Shortly after TMZ released the shocking photo of an abused Rihanna the pop starlet reconciled with Brown at P. Diddy's Mexico mansion.  Rihanna and her lawyers accompanied Brown to his March 5, 2009 court date where she contested the need for an order of protection against him.

Chris Brown will be back in court on April 6, 2009.
