Rip Torn Arrested Again for Breaking in to Bank with Gun

Actor Rip Torn was arrested again last night for breaking in to a Litchfield Bancorp Main Street bank with a loaded gun and while intoxicated. When he forced his way in to the bak it set off an alarm and at around 9:40pm police from Troop B barracks received the call and responded.

It is not immediately known how Rip Torn entered the bank as only one window near the back had a board sitting underneath it with the screen torn, but no other form of entry could be seen.

He was then taken in to custody and taken to the Troop B barracks and he is currently being held there on a $100,000 cash bond. He is set to appear in court on Monday February 1st. He has been charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass, carrying a firearm while intoxicated and third-degree criminal mischief.

Torn, 78, a Salisbury resident, did not go to jail for a December 2008 drunken driving incident, and was expected to attend a weekend alcohol education program instead.
