Robin Wright Penn has filed for divorce from Sean Penn, her husband of 12 years, citing "irreconcilable differences". According to the papers, Robin Wright Penn and Sean Penn will share custody of their son, Hopper Jack Penn, as well as all property. Their daughter, Dylan Frances Penn, is already 18 and college bound.
Robin Wright Penn and Sean Penn have a had a fairly tempestuous history, and had broken up and subsequently reconciled several times already. Robin Wright Penn and Sean Penn have begun divorce proceedings twice before, but this time it's for real.
The A-list couple, who had been together since 1989 and married in 1996, have had an up-and-down history of break-ups and make-ups. They have filed papers to initiate divorce on two other occasions. In June, Sean Penn reportedly dropped out of two big-ticket movie projects (MGM’s The Three Stooges and Universal/Imagine’s Cartel) to focus on his family life.
Back in the day, I lived on the same street as Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn... but it was a very, very long street. They lived on the nice end. You can guess on which end I lived.

Yes some of those streets can go on for miles....
