Robota the Doll

  Seeking something about robots in comics, I come across  Sylvain Calinon,( the NewScientistTech, see here). He created a robot capable of drawing artistic portraits . A second person in the team is Prof Aude Billar and she created “Robota”……(an ongoing project).

   In our relations with people, we like  attractive and emotive faces, we like their sociability and kindness. Well with robots, as friends and lovers and toys we would like to find the same qualities.
  In a program on cognitive psychology of social Human-Robot interaction by Prof. Aude Billar, (see here), I found an elaboration of the Isaac Asimov’s “Three Laws of Robotics”:…” A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not “conflict with the First or Second Law”,  (see here).

 I quote” The ROBOTA dolls are a family of mini humanoid robots. They are educational toys. They can engage in complex interaction with humans, involving speech, vision and body imitation.”  Their Laws are practical ones, directed to make us forgetting that we are interacting with a robotic doll,  see here.

 …  “One of the Robota doll’s application is for children with autism who are often impaired in their ability to imitate. Research with Robota  investigates how to use the imitation game to help children learn these fundamental skills”…, see here. Perhaps what the Robota project is trying to do for autistic  children can in some why help pedophiles.

 No if we are speaking about look and  aesthetic, then, I presume, many people would be attracted by the following “Doll’s Eyes”,

  And many other would regard with suspicion the photos of the artist Alain Delorme, winner of the Prix Arcimboldo 2007 for his exhibition named “Little Dolls”,  where frightening faces of children  prematurely aged look at us with a sweet manipulated gaze, see here.
