Known as an industry leader in providing acoustic amplification, pickup and preamp systems, for more than 30 years, for a list of top music performers that reads like a People Magazine "Who's Who," (Paul Simon, James Taylor, Bob Dylan and more), Fishman Acoustics recently added world renowned singer/songwriter and uke recording artist Ukulele Ray, to their roster of legendary endorsees.

Known for his myriad of styles and genres, from rock to reggae and country to comedy, as well as an innovator in introducing ukulele into mainstream music and TV commercial jingles, Ray's version of "Somewhere Over The Raibow" hit the top of the AMAZON and iTunes uke charts for 23-months straight as a #1 bestseller in 2009-11, followed by a string of 13 albums and hundreds of singles.

"I'm thrilled and honored to be added to such a prestigious list of artists," Ray said. "To be recognized for my contribution to music through a product I depend on every day... stage and studio, is the ultimate."

Ray is not foreign to top endorsements, being added to Fender Musical Instruments' "A" list in 2009, as their first ukulele artist, with such legends as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Beck, as well as author of the Hal Leonard book, "Ukulele For Guitar Players."

"You'll find more and more uke artists coming to the forefront, with endorsements from major brands, as ukulele has hit a stronger-than-ever chord in American culture," Ray added. "When you start hearing ukulele on just about every-other TV commercial, promoting everything from kitty litter to the coffee you drink every morning, you know it's become a part of the culture... and I believe it's 'hear' to stay."
