Rolling Stone Endorses Obama

The timing of this perfect: just as McCain gets the nod from current President George Bush, Obama gets the high five from that venerable rock & roll publishing institution, Rolling Stone magazine.

Has it ever been more obvious that, if Obama beats Clinton, McCain will be doing battle with a bona fide Democratic rock star?

Rolling Stone is backing Democratic Senator Barack Obama for president.

It's the first time the music magazine has endorsed a contender for the White House during the primary.

In the magazine's upcoming issue, the editors say: “Undoing the damage of the disastrous Bush years will take a leader who can unite a deeply divided nation.”

They go on to say that “politicians with gifts like Obama's” are rare.

“It's imperative for each of us to do our part,” they say.

The magazine has endorsed presidential candidates since 1972, beginning with Democrat George McGovern.

good stuff:

Rock Star is very apt, Jarrett. Rolling Stone loses my vote.
