Rue McClanahan

Rue McClanahan, best known for her role on The Golden Girls, has been hospitalized today from acute cardiac illness, and this means the tribute to her work scheduled for November 14 in San Francisco has been canceled.

She issued this statement from hospital:

"My darlings, I'm just devastated that I am going to have to miss my own tribute at the Castro Theatre," she said in a statement on Wednesday from her hospital room. "Unfortunately, my doctor has laid down the law, and I'm currently having some maintenance on the old ticker. Trust me, I'd much rather be in San Francisco having fun and being adored by all of you."

Acute Cardiac Illness is an illness of the heart, and can include cardiac failure, acute dilatation, heart strain and valvular lesions.

That was the funniest show on the air.  Actually it is still on and still one of the best shows.  They are/were a laff riot!
