Ryan Dunn's Fatal Car Crash said to be Alcohol-Related
News of his death made headlines early this morning (June 20), and now more details have emerged regarding Ryan Dunn's tragic car accident.
According to some fellow bar patrons, the "Jackass" star arrived at Barnaby's of America in West Chester, PA around 10:30pm and met up with a small group of male friends.
One of the sources told TMZ that Dunn had 2 Miller Lites and 3 "girly shots" between the time he arrived and 2:10am, and was presumed "not too drunk to drive."
However another bar-goer contends that Ryan was "wasted" and "had a lot to drink" when he hopped in his Porsche with an unidentified passenger.
Both occupants were killed when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and into the woods where it erupted into flames.
Though both passengers were severely burned, police said they were able to identify Dunn through his hair and tattoos. They also said that speed may have been a factor in the crash.
In an eery development, the 34-year-old had posted a photo to his Twitter account just hours before his death, showing himself drinking with friends at the West Chester bar.
Earlier today, Ryan Dunn's "Jackass" co-star Johnny Knoxville tweeted, "Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn. My heart goes out to his family and his beloved Angie. RIP Ryan, I love you buddy."
MTV has also released a statement in wake of Monday's tragic accident, praising Dunn for his "tireless humor and enthusiasm" while adding that he will be greatly missed.
“We are devastated by the tragic loss of Ryan Dunn — a beloved member of the MTV family for more than a decade,” said Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music/Films Group. “The Jackass brotherhood will never be the same.”
