NP Rank:
RZA to Direct Martial Arts Film
Rza's name has been linked to reports that he will direct a martial arts film "The Man With The Iron Fist" alongside actor/director Eli Roth. Details have been pretty fuzzy on this project; it's simply labeled as In Development (2010) on the IMDB page.
Whenever it gets released, it probably will get hyped up quite a bit simply because of Rza's mysterious and charismatic persona. We all know he is one hell of a hiphop producer, at least he used to be, but how that translates to him being a great director, we will have to just wait and see. One thing for sure is that Rza's early experience watching kung-fu flicks in Times Square must have had a strong influence on the title of his film. I can definitely see "The Man With The Iron Fist" appear on a marquee on 42nd St in 1979.
"I still got it. I made it," RZA said. Actually, I did like two 45-minute episodes. The Bobby Digital character, he's a superhero at one point, right. But then he's also just this f*cking guy in the streets at another point. I did one episode based on like, '89. I did one episode that was supposed to be like 10 years later. I've still got a lot of faith in the character. I'm hoping to maybe get a comic-book deal or something."

I loved "The Last Dragon". I have a bad feeling about RZA. He's a good hip hop artists. I know, studios used him alot to bridge hip hop into martial films for urban audience. He never directed a martial arts film in his life. Just to make him director because he put some hip hop in some films is crazy.
