You'd think that by now the infamous Sacha Baron Cohen, of Ali G and Borat fame, would have a tough time arranging (ie. staging) crazy interviews without the interviewees immediately realizing they were being implicated in Cohen's elaborate jokes.  But, apparently, Bruno is a sufficient disguise?

Baron Cohen is known for his crazy antics in Borat, but just how far is he willing to go for Bruno, his upcoming comedy about a gay European model in the States?

The Sun reports that he managed to bring together a former Israeli spy and a Palestinian academic into an interesting sketch. He was granted an interview with the pair in Jerusalem’s Old City under the guise of a youth documentary.

Cohen posed questions and various ridiculous statements about the Arab-Israeli conflict such as "Why didn’t you settle the conflict with a time share on the land?", "When will you Jews return the pyramids?" and finally "Your conflict is not so bad. Jennifer-Angelina is worse."

UPDATE: July 11, 2008 | Blue Collar Brawlin' Fans Mad About Bruno Gay Kissing Stunt
Comedy actor Sacha Baron Cohen has sparked outrage in Arkansas after hijacking a cage-fighting contest with a display of gay kissing.

The Borat star infuriated fans at the Blue Collar Brawlin' event when the participants stripped down to their underwear and kissed. More than 1,600 spectators threw beer and chairs at the act.

It is believed the event was a stunt for Cohen's new movie Brüno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt.

Dwight Duncan, president of the Four States Fair Grounds which provided the venue said: "We had a contract for cage fighting. We were deceived."

A spokesman for Cohen declined to say whether he was behind the prank.

I was always amazed that Ali-G could get interviews with Donald Trump, Patrick Buchanan, ect.

It's amazing that he can still pull this off. It would have been even more amazing if he had managed to broker a peace deal with his proposals.
