Keanu Reeves Writes Children's Book (for Grownups)

The Sad Keanu meme has gone the way of so many others that have gone before: from web to bookstore. This one, though, was written by Keanu Reeves himself. Capitalizing on the Sad Keanu meme, Reeves wrote a poem which wallowed in misery, and called it Ode to Happiness.

Keanu Reeves' Ode to Happiness is clearly intended for adults, but is positioned as a children's book. The book is illustrated by Alexandra Grant, who made lines like "I draw a hot sorrow bath" take life as pen-and-ink drawings.

Too bad this news comes too late for Unofficial Cheer Up Keanu Day, which takes place on June 15. Actually, Keanu could be forgiven for having a morose streak: his girlfriend Jennifer Syme gave birth to a stillborn baby in 1999, and died in a car accident two years later.
