More than 400 supporters of same-sex marriage marched in the streets of downtown Sacramento on Tuesday evening in reaction to the morning's ruling by the California Supreme Court upholding a ban on same-sex marriage.  California's top political leader Senator Darrell Steinberg and openly-gay Assemblyman Tom Ammiano spoke in support of same sex marriage, pledging to "continue the fight for equality" in the state of California.  Protesters carried signs reading "Teach Tolerance," "I DO support the freedom to marry," "I am now a second class citizen. Thank you California." and "Better Gay than Grumpy."

A group of less than a dozen supporters of Proposition 8 stood across the street from the Capitol carrying signs in support of California's ban on same-sex marriage.
