Bullock Under 'Oscars Curse'?

The rumours of Jesse James cheating on his wife actress Sandra Bullock have resurrected talks of the so-called 'Oscars curse,' whereby a great majority of women who won an Oscar for best actress in leading role have separated or divorced from their partners after getting the accolade.

It is alleged that TV personality Jesse James has been cheating on his wife with tattoo model Michelle 'Bombshell' McGee who in her interview to Touch Magazine claims that she had an affair with James. McGee says she was under the impression that James and Bullock were no longer together. Bullock won an Oscar for her role in "The Blind Side" just weeks ago.

Bullock has pulled out of the London premiere of her Oscar-winning movie "The Blind Side" in the wake of McGee's comments. The Washington Post reports Bullock has issued a statement, saying "due to unforeseen personal reasons a trip abroad to support 'The Blind Side' has been deemed impossible at this time."

Just days ago, another Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet separated from her husband of six years Sam Mendes in an "entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement." Winslet won an Oscar in 2008 for her role in The Reader.

Winslet's separation from Mendes and rumours of James cheating on Bullock have revived the allegations of the existence of 'Oscar curse.'

As a reference, here are the actresses whose personal life went to shreds after winning an Oscar:

--Hilary Swank ("Million Dollar Baby") was married to actor Chad Lowe. The couple separated in January of 2006, Swank won her Oscar in 2005.--Halle Berry ("Monster’s Ball") won Oscar in 2002. She divorced her second husband Eric Benét in 2005.
--Reese Witherspoon ("Walk The Line") divorced from husband Ryan Phillippe in October 2006. She won Oscar in March of 2006.
--Julia Roberts won an Oscar in 2001 for her role in "Eric Brockovich". She broke up with her partner Benjamin Bratt three months after the Oscar ceremony.

However, there are also examples of Oscar-winning actresses who managed to keep their relationships or marriages intact after winning the coveted award.

--Marion Cotillard ("La Vie En Rose") who is still happy with her partner Guillaume Canet. She won Oscar in 2008.
--Helen Mirren is happily married to Taylor Hackford. She won an Oscar for "The Queen" in 2007.
--Charlize Theron ("Monster") still resides with her boyfriend Stuart Townsend. She won in 2004.
