Sarnath2- India

Sarnath, just outside of Varanasi is an important place for all Buddhists. It is here where Siddharta Gautama gave his first speech to a small group of followers. It is still concidered to be an important place to visit as a Buddhist.

The ancient stupa in the background is one of the last remains from the old times here. People walk several times around the stupa saying prayers. Others just sit in the grass chatting, sleeping, contemplating...
