Save Midnight Sun Petition Hopes to Publish Meyer's Book

A petition circling the internet asks Twilight and Stephenie Meyer's fans to 'Save Midnight Sun'; the book that was meant to be published next and retold the first book, Twilight, from the perspective of Edward Cullen, the vampire played by Robert Pattinson in the film.
Midnight Sun was being written when copies of twelve of the chapters were leaked on to the internet. Meyers stopped writing the book and wrote to her fans on her website:
I have a good idea of how the leak happened as there were very few copies of Midnight Sun that left my possession and each was unique. Due to little changes I made to the manuscript at different times, I can tell when each left my possession and to whom it was given. The manuscript that was illegally distributed on the Internet was given to trusted individuals for a good purpose. I have no comment beyond that as I believe that there was no malicious intent with the initial distribution.
I did not want my readers to experience Midnight Sun before it was completed, edited and published. I think it is important for everybody to understand that what happened was a huge violation of my rights as an author, not to mention me as a human being.
She stated that she does want to finish the book eventually, and the leaked chapters are available to read online in their leaked state, but it seems as if fans are worried Stephenie Meyer will never finish and they might never be able to see the end of Twilight from Edward Cullen's point of view.

iI realy hope there is a midnight sun cause i love the twilight books. They are my favorite series of books and my favorite of all is breaking dawn but if there is a midnight sun that might change

I have also really enjoyed the Twilight saga. I have read many books since first starting the series, and have yet to find one that I have enjoyed half as much. I would love to read more. I would love to see the book published to add to my twilight collection.

Mrs. Meyer, please finish Midnight Sun. My daughter and I have refused to read the portion that is online in hopes of getting the book upon it's completion. We are both huge fans of the Twilight saga and reading things form Edward's perspective would add to the experience.

Dear Stephenie Meyer. Please go on writing and publish Midnight Sun. I'm a Turkish girl. I'm 16 years old. And I have never read a book like Twilight. I finished all books in a week. And I'm very upset now. Because I feel myself as if I lost my friends.. Because Twilight saga came the end. At first I have a hope about Midnight Sun. But later I learned that it had illegaly posted to the net. And you had given up writing. I think it's unfairness. Because your real fans never give up reading. I'm sure that they will buy the Midnight Sun as soon as it is published if you go on writing. Because the most important thoughts belong to Edward.Because they're unknown. He know every thought but we cant know his thoughts. It's the reason why it will become more exciting than Twilight. It's just my idea of course. But no matter what happens I'm sure that it will be excellent like the others.. So please go on.. And please don't leave us on the halfway. We beleive in you and we love you..

I believe that if she does not publish the book, she just does not have it done or else this is just a ploy to get everyone hyped up about this book so they want to buy it...you can't tell me that it's just because somebody published some of it on the web, it most likely is sitting somewhere all finished with the books just waiting to be distributed for sales...
come on, she's an author and this is attention getting stuff!!
I loved her Twilight series but I am not going to hang around and wait till she decides to get it out on the stands

When I heard that Midnight Sun has been leaked over the net and would therefore not be finished, I nearly cried. I have just finished Twight, I finished it in one day and loved it so much, that I rushed out and bought all the other books in the series too. The characters have come to life for me in a mjor way and I can see by all the comments I have read, that the Twlight series will be one that goes down in history and will be much loved for generations to come. I am hoping that with the large out pouring of public support and requests, that you continue with this book Stephanie. You have a gift that is beautiful and a story that we are all craving for. Please allow us, your loyal fans, the cahnce to see Twlight through Edwards eyes.
