Scarlett Johansson is getting set to rasp her way into the listless hearts of listeners' ears once more, with the upcoming release of her sophomore album 'Break Up' — her collaboration with a real musician Pete Yorn.

ScarJo won't be butchering any Tom Waits tunes this time round, but it's somehow fitting that Hollywood's current buxom, blonde celebrity du jour is taking inspiration from Serge Gainsbourg's recordings with Johansson's 1960s pin-up predecessor, Brigitte Bardot.

(It sure sounds like someone's been listening to the legitimately ear-pleasing pairing of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, doesn't it?)

'Break Up' will be released September 8, 2009.

Its been announced that Johansson has recorded a sophomore album titled "Break Up" with musician Pete Yorn. The album was recorded in 2006 prior to her debut LP of Tom Waits covers "Anywhere I Lay My Head" and is slated for a September release.

It is said to be inspired by Serge Gainsbourg's 1960s recordings with Brigitte Bardot and according to USA Today, Johansson recorded her vocals parts in just two afternoon sessions.

I kinda have a bad feeling about this... and I don't think that finishing the vocals for an entire album in two afternoons is a good thing.
