Los Angeles (ANTARA News) - Hollywood screen beauty Scarlett Johansson is to marry Canadian boyfriend Ryan Reynolds after a year-long relationship, a spokesman for the actress confirmed on Monday.

Johansson, 23, the star of "The Nanny Diaries," "Lost In Translation" and "Match Point," was said to be "thrilled" at the engagement, representative Marcel Pariseau said in a email to AFP. No wedding date has yet been set.

According to People magazine, Reynolds, 31, whose films include "Blade Trinity," and "Definitely Maybe," popped the question recently. Appropriately, Reynolds is currently working on a film called "The Proposal," People said.

The Vancouver-born hunk was previously engaged to Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette from 2004 until their reported split in 2006.

Johansson has recently signalled her intention to branch out by pursuing a music career. Her debut album, "Anywhere I Lay My Head," is due out on May 20.

Her next film appearance comes in Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," her third collaboration with the veteran New York director following 2005's "Scoop" and "Match Point" the following year. (*) end

Johansson is also branching out and working more with youngsters.  In 2006, she signed a deal with Reebok to co-create "Scarlett 'Hearts' Rbk," athletic footwear scheduled for a debut in the spring of 2007. Johansson was featured in Reebok's global women's advertising campaign, also in the spring of 2007. The company described Johansson as an "inspiration for today's young women."

Our school, the Academy of Cinema and Television, just announced a collboration with Johansson. She has joined our list of celebrities to produce an online educational Q&A series to give younsters desiring to enter the entertainment field insight into the industry.
