SCOTT BUTERA: Vegas Magic Recovery Man

After restructuring the Donald Trump empire books from all red to all black, a real hero on a white horse rode into Vegas to help the troubled Tropicana Hotel and the corporation's other numerous properties across America.

The hero is named Scott Butera!  This is the sharpest, down to earth, nuts and bolts CEO I have seen since 1968 when I arrived in Vegas.  He has actually made so many positive changes that in only a few more months the Trop will be out of their bankruptcy perimeters.

How did he do it?  Common sense and putting his bet on his employees being the best selling tool of all.  And to him I say "BRAVO"!  This is how the other casinos should be running their ships.

Meanwhile, the MGM Mirage corporation is about to go default on such a large debt that even Obama might gasp.  The Boyd Gaming Group tried to buy all the Stations Casino properties for over 900 million.  But they were turned down because Stations wants to try restructuring and hold on to their own empire.

With all these belts being tightened, tourists will find bargains like never before on and off the Strip.  Competition for high rollers may go to places like the Wynn, the Encore and even the new "M" Hotel.  However, watch movers and shakers like Scott Butera at the Trop to offer values that "no one can refuse". 

So when you need a break from all the stress, remember Vegas is open 24/7 and is the best bargain on the planet.  And aren't you interested in getting the most mileage out of your dollar these days?
