As if thousands of kilometers of sun-drenched beach wasn't enough, WA has to go bigger.

From March 6-18, Cottesloe Beach, just southwest of Perth's City Center, is hosting Sculpture by the Sea. Over fifty artists (from home and away, as it were) will present their works on the stunning sandscape of Cottesloe. This is no museum, either: visiters are welcome to interact with (i.e. touch) all of the work.

Whilst relatively new to Perth, Sydney has been hosting this event for more than ten years along the Bondi-Tamarama walk.

Admission: free
Opening Hours: yes

If you're in or somewhat near Perth, grab your camera and sunscreen and head down to the beach. If you don't feel like driving, you can take a city bus from Perth or a free shuttle from Cottesloe's train station.

Another brilliant display this year!
In the exhibit, dozens and dozens of these wood people inhabit the beach.
