Seacrest spotted at Times Square stage? Plus performer updates!

On December 29th, at 7 pm EST Broadway theater goers mixed with tourists in a packed Times Square pedestrian mall. Some stopped to gawk at New Year's Eve preparations already underway in Times Square.  A small group gathered to watch a tech rehearsal at the New Year's mainstage where lights whirled and a huge teleprompter could be seen from the ground scrolling words. Suddenly from the rubberneckers a girl yelled, "It's Ryan Seacrest!," setting off a mild frenzy, mostly among the teenage girls.

Responding to the yells of "Ryan, Ryan," a man who looked liked Seacrest waved from the stage to the audience below.

It is unconfirmed if the sighting was indeed the American Idol and New Year ambassador, Seacrest, however, those in attendance or tuning in on New Year's Eve will be sure to catch  the multi-media mogul who will host "New Year's Rocking Eve" from Times Square December 31st. On that night, Seacrest will share the stage with glitzy company. The Times Square Alliance has confirmed that Pitbull and Hot Chelle Rae will perform during the 2012 New Year's live telecast.  Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are also scheduled to wow the worldwide audience.
