Sean Kingston Passenger Speaks Out About Jet Ski Crash
Speaking out for the first time since their weekend jet ski fun turned serious, Sean Kingston's passenger is recalling the moments that led up to Sunday's (May 29) crash.
The fellow rider and longtime friend of the "Beautiful Girls" singer, Cassandra Sanchez, told TMZ that the two were going way too fast from the start, revealing, "Both jet skis pulled out of the dock at the same time and we were going so fast we just blasted past them. When we turned a corner and crashed ... they were so far behind us they didn't even see us crash."
Cassandra said they were gliding through the water at a high rate of speed before approaching the Palm Island bridge, when she yelled out to Sean,"We can't fit under there? Are we going to try and go under there? Sean, stop!"
This recounting of events was verified by a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman, who added, "nothing at this point would indicate that alcohol played a role."
Although Sanchez only suffered a sore jaw and ribs, Kingston remains at Miami's Ryder Trauma Center, where he is listed in critical, but stable condition.
Yesterday a publicist for the singer released this statement about Sunday's accident: "Sean Kingston is now stabilized and has moved from the trauma unit to ICU. Sean's family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time."
Sean's rescuer, Jonathan Rivera (an off-duty member of the Coast Guard), told TMZ that - after coming upon the accident - he immediately wrapped his arms around 21-year-old before noticing that he was "convulsing and throwing up blood" all over him.
After holding on for 15 minutes a police boat arrived on scene and, as Rivera revealed, Kingston's spirits were positive as he reassured everyone, telling "I'm going to be okay."
Since Sunday's crash, members of the music world have been quick to reach out to their fellow artist via Twitter, with Justin Bieber writing, "Got my friend...in my prayers tonight. A true friend and big bro. Please keep him in your prayers tonight as well."
Meanwhile LL Cool J, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj all posted messages of support, with Ri-Ri tweeting, "Sean we praying for u baby."
