She claimed the Lord of the Rings star, 49, grabbed and assaulted her in the bust-up at their £2million townhouse.

The couple’s tempestuous relationship also saw them both bloodied and bruised after a boozy hotel fight two years ago.

One source said of the latest episode: “There was a lot of shouting and hollering and Mrs Bean rang 999 and told the operator she was being attacked.
