Sesame Street Google Images: Celebrate 40 Years of Sesame Street
The Sesame Street muppets are celebrating, because Sesame Street is turning 40, and today The Count is on Google's homepage. You can also go to Sesame Street's website and vote for your favorite recent clip. I chose the Martians discovering the fan. (also, Sesame Street lyrics)
Sesame Street actually aired to the public on November 10, 1969, and is still going strong. If The Count had to count all the Sesame Street episodes, he'd be pretty busy. Big Bird seems to age more slowly than the rest of us, though, having only turned six in 1991.

I thought you might post on this, Jordan! Yes, Big Bird is on Google and celebrating a birthday. BTW, I saw "Jim Henson's Fantastic World,"one of the Smithsonian Institution's Traveling exhibits. It is on display at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, PA through the end of November. How Jim Henson got involved with Sesame Street is explained. The whole idea of visual thinking, one of Henson's main themes fit in perfectly with the Children's Television Network's interest in starting educational children's programming.

Did you know that they have other characters throughout the world, including HIV positive KAMI in Africa? I had no idea how diverse they were - pretty cool.
