Shane Thomas, 10-Year-Old Pianist, Called the Next Mozart
Shane Thomas is a 10-year-old pianist from Woking, Surey in England, and already he is being called the next Mozart due to his amazing abilities.
He has only been having piano lessons for four months and practises for four hours a week, but he already plays difficult classical pieces and composes scores in his head. He was just seven when he sat down at the piano and could play instantly.
Shane said: "I told Dad when I was three that I could play but nobody took me seriously. When I'm at school I can listen to the teacher and do my work while composing in my head.
"I remember the melodies, then when I get home I play them on the piano and Dad records them.
"I love playing piano. When I grow up I want to be a piano composer.
He also says he never gets nervous.
His tutor, Richard Goffin-Lecar, says that he is like Amadeus Mozart who was alive during the 18th century in Salzburg, Austria and is perhaps one of the most celebrated composers in musical history. Mr. Goffin-Lecar says that he didn't even really teach Shane that much, just guided him technically and sat back and gave support.
His father, who is a single parent with two other children, says that although he has little money, he wants to send Shane to a good musical school.
"I am a single father and it's a struggle but I have this gifted child. There is no funding but I want to give him the best teachers and they are not cheap. I also want to take him into a studio to record."
