Damian Hirst, 'The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living', 1991 @ Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, march 2008
This is actually the second shark in Hirst's iconic piece. The original shark was so badly prepared, that it rotted from the inside and started to fall apart.
The installation was part op the collection of Charles Saatchi. He bought it right after it was made for 50.000 English pounds and sold it in 2003 for $ 8.000.000.
