Free music from the hundreds of bands getting set to rock Austin, Texas next week -- it's almost like being there! Well, almost.

South by Southwest is one of the premiere festivals in the world for discovering new bands, although that's easier said than done -- especially if you brave the wristband lines as opposed to waving around a $1K platinum badge for instant venue access.

Whether you're attending or not, if you like free music (and who doesn't), download the 3497 MB zip file (BitTorrent client required) that Greg Hewill seeded on BitTorrent, containing music from 764 new bands that will be performing at the festival. This should help you decide which shows you want to see (or which shows you wish you could see, if you're not attending this year).

If you'd rather cherrypick MP3s than download the whole shebang, SXSW has the same MP3s posted on its site, but the Torrent link is a much easier way to go.
