Shroud of Turin fake says Italian scientist
Christianity is dealt a blow by Italian scientist Luigi Garlaschelli who claims to have reproduced the Shroud of Turin, the alleged ancient burial cloth of Jesus Christ. This furthers the scientist's claim that the Shroud of Turin is fake and is merely a hoax perpetrated by the profitable medieval pilgrimage business.
The Catholic Church, though, does not claim authenticity of the Shroud of Turin and its link with Jesus Christ. It instead holds that the Shroud is a powerful reminder of the passion of Jesus Christ.
The Shroud of Turin is kept in the Turin Cathedral in Italy.
An Italian scientist named Luigi Garlaschelli claimed he has reproduced the Shroud of Turin, the supposed burial cloth of Jesus Christ. His recreation of the Shroud of Turin furthers his claim that the supposed cloth of Jesus Christ is a medieval fake.
The Shroud of Turin bears what seems to be photographic negative of Jesus Christ, as believed by many Christians. Italian scientist Luigi Garlaschelli said:
“We have shown that is possible to reproduce something which has the same characteristics as the Shroud.”
