Shwayze: A Malibu-Rapper Names Himself After Late Patrick Swayze

We all know Patrick Swayze, who wowed the world in the `80s with his moves in Dirty Dancing. During this time, Aaron Smith, later to be known as Shwayze, was growing up in Malibu, loving hip-hop and dreaming of being a rapper.

Aaron Smith uses Shwayze as his stage name after Patrick Swayze. He worked at Starbucks until he crossed path`s with Whitestarr frontman Cisco Adler at a nightclub, when Shwayze jumped onto stage during Whitestarr performance and joined in their performance, freestyling.

Cisco was so impressed with Shwayze that he started collaborating with the young rapper. Cisco left Whitestarr in 2008 and co-wrote Shwayze`s self-titled debut album.
