Shy'm: French Singer Rocks Transparent Corset for NRJ Awards

Meat dresses are played out. Transparent corsets are where it's at. This, at least, according to Shy'm.

Shy'm, born Tamara Marthe, is a 26-year-old French R&B singer who was unknown outside of France until... well, until you read this story. We now know what it takes to steal the spotlight from Justin Bieber, LMFAO, and Seal on the red carpet: a transparent corset.

Shy'm won Francophone Female Artist of the Year at the 2012 NRJ Awards.

(Shy'm is not to be confused with "shim", which was the pronoun preferred by drag performer and actor Divine, made famous through the films of John Waters. Pink Flamingos was particularly notorious.)

France's pop music scene is on the other side of a lingual wall: President Nicolas Sarkozy's wife, Carla Bruni, is unknown in America for her music-- you most likely saw her as the museum guide in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris.
