Charlie Chaplin, "The King of Film", died aged 88 on the 25th December 1977. He passed away at 04:00 at his Swiss manor. His wife Oona was present. Their daughter, actress Geraldine, was filming abroad (Spain) but his son Sidney was at his bedside, too.

Sir Charles Spencer "Charlie" Chaplin was an English comedian actor and film director. Chaplin became one of the most famous actors as well as a notable filmmaker, composer and musician in the early to mid Classical Hollywood era of American cinema. He was famous also for his great sense of humor and slapstick comedy skills.
