Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, is planning to sue Warner Brothers for wrongful death.

Simon Monjack and Brittany Murphy's mother believe Warner Brothers is responsible for her death. Simon Monjack told The Daily Beast in an interview that he is convinced Brittany died of a heart attack from the stress caused by Warner Brothers.

Warner Brothers canceled her contract just 2 weeks before Brittany Murphy died. Monjack said Murphy was excited to be in the sequel of Happy Feet, but later devastated when she was fired.

The LA County Coroner has yet to release Brittany Murphy's cause of death.

A month before the Warner Brothers’s decision, Murphy had been let go from The Caller, a film shooting in Puerto Rico, and replaced with Twilight star Rachelle Lefevre. There were rumors that Monjack—who did Brittany’s hair and makeup—had been so difficult on the set, sometimes showing up drunk, that the producers had let her go.

Simon Monjack denied being drunk on the set. He said he was "difficult" only because he tried to protect Brittany from directors and producers who tried to work her to exhaustion. He said, "Warner Brothers relied on conjecture and hearsay about the Puerto Rico film for why they cancelled Brittany’s role in Happy Feet. You’re disposable as an actress or actor."
