Singer Andy Williams dies at 84 after battle with bladder cancer
Tuesday night, legendary singer Andy Williams died after battling bladder cancer over the last year; Williams was 84 years old.
Williams was best known for the hit song, Moon River which was recorded in one take in the 1960s, but he was also host of his own TV show called The Andy Williams Show in the 1960s and continued through 1971.
"The old cliche says that if you can remember the 1960s, you weren't there," Williams said once. "Well, I was there all right, but my memory of them is blurred — not by any drugs I took but by the relentless pace of the schedule I set myself."
Williams’ built the Moon River Theater in his hometown of Branson, Missouri. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer in November 2011.
