Ritika Sahney an emminent Bollywood singer was on visit to Mussoorie.She found time to visit the hill station town from her busy schedule.She was in Dehradun to attend walk for aids awareness program along with other celebraties.enraged at the recent Mumbai attack she said theat security should be the foremost concern of the governmnts.

MUSSOORIE, 1 Dec: Ritika Sahney, on a visit, here, said today that singing was her passion and she derived strength from the folk music and traditions of Bengal.
She told Garhwal Post she was mesmerised by the beauty of the town.
“I was invited along with Hemant Pandey for the “Walk for AIDS Awareness” programme, and as we had time to spare, we thought of visiting Mussoorie.”
Ritika Sahney, originally from Bengal, has music in her soul. She was initiated into music in Kolkata and at Rabindra Bharti University, where she was a gold medalist in Musicology. She started with traditional Bangla songs and became famous in the region. Gradually, she started getting offers for other languages, too.
Ritika is well versed in pop and classical, western, south Indian and has given many super-hit songs during her career in music.
Her first album was under the guidance of famous composer Vanraj Bhatia, which was titled ‘Ritika’ in the year 2000 and released by Times Music. This was followed by another album under the same label titled “Nami”. However, she found fame with the duet sung with Sonu Nigam for the film “Main Madhuri Dikshit Banna Chahati Hoon”. The song for Sunil Shetty’s film ‘Rakt’, “Oh What A babe’, also became famous. She has also sung a song for ‘Hari-Bhari’ directed by Shyam Benegal.
However, Ritika says she finds solace in her albums for children. She has done most work for children’s albums.

Great singer! thanks for sharing...i remembered Lata Mangeshkar, she is one of the best known playback singer in the Bollywood industry. :)

her singing really creates some sensations indeed. first time i heard her was nearly over a decade back, in a regional tv serial title song, it was from then i started noticing her singing talents.
