Skii Bo Ski, real name Antonio Wheeler, was an American Idol contestant in Atlanta this week and he received a golden ticket to Hollywood, but it has been revealed that he has a criminal past and viewers are questioning if American Idol does any background checks on their contestants.
Skii Bo Ski, 22, has an array of different mug shots and became known in 2005 when he refused to give a urine sample in Orlando and a police officer tasered him while he was strapped to a gurney in hospital. The officer was tried twice on a battery charge but in 2006 the case was dropped.
He was most recently arrested on December 31 for contempt of court.
American Idol would not comment on the matter.
Wheeler could not be reached. His telephone recording verified his identity, however. "This is Skii Bo Ski," a voice sang. "I will call you back as soon as I get to the phone, as a matter of fact. This is Skii Bo Ski. I will call you back after you leave a message to give to Skii Bo Ski. Skii Bo Ski. Skii Bo Ski. Oh, yeah."
Skii Bo Ski sang I Heard it Through the Grapevine for his audition and declared himself the next American Idol.
It is not known at this point what is going to happen to Skii Bo Ski or if he is going to be allowed to continue on American Idol.

I personally think that it would NOT be right to ban Ski from the contest. After all, if the judges think he has a good voice, then whats the problem? I mean come on.. Look at some of the singers, actors, stars, hell even athletes, that have a some type of record. I wont go and make specific names, but you have any one of the above getting arrested for drunk driver, hit and run, doing drugs, and they are still idolized for whatever profession they are in. You can't go a day without reading someting about someone that is idolized doing something wrong. Anyways, thats just my opinion, I know others will probably feel the same, and others wont.

If it was one offence. Maybe but he is a repeat offender, for this I would vote no. It has to do with following rules, and I can always forgive someone once. Maybe twice...for making a mistake, but seriously how many times did he break the law? Also I would bet my golf clubs that American Idol wont let him go on, and this has NOTHING to do with right or wrong, it will have everything to do with money, sponsors will not want their name anywhere near his criminal record and will demand he not be allowed to continue. I also love how some people in defense say "Well I don’t think marijuana should be illegal so I don’t see what he as a crime". Hey smart people, guess what, it is illegal and wither you think it should or should not be ... IT STILL IS!!!!!! There is my 2 cents.

seriously? if you think a someone who has a criminal record shouldn't be on American Idol, why did we let Tim Allen on home improvement? Don't talk about a bull shit excuse such as an influence to children when we don't know the entire story about this guy. For all we know this guy (who's attitude makes me think he's an idiot btw) could be trying to do something else with his life and now that we find something kinda bad about his past he can't anymore? I could understand if he was a murderer, rapist or sex offender but what did this guy do exactly? oh yeah refuse a piss test. In all honesty I really think this guy is annoying as hell but, he can sing at least. Will he be the next American Idol, honestly with his attitude I doubt it. But whether or not we should let this guy keep going in the competition I say yes and if he fucks up again well then American Idol's got a possible future R. Kelly on their hands.

Skii Bo Ski, is on the verge of cutting edge pop and R&B. Another way to put it is, he's the voice of the next generation. Destined to reach and surpass heights previously set by Sam Cooke, Roy Orbinson, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Garth Brooks, Usher, and who knows maybe one day Michael Jackson....big maybe on the MJ. He's got big pockets backing him, and top notch producers in line to get on board before the Skii Bo Ski rocket takes off to unprecedented reaches. In the coming months, alot more will become obvious. Skii Bo Ski 2011 and beyond.

why was one girl allowed to still compete on the show during Hollywood week when just last season she had to leave the show during hollywood week due to a warrant she had to do 6 days in jail for...I'm sure skii bo ski isn't the only idol contestant to have some criminal back ground...
