With Chinese Democracy the much hyped though under promoted by Axl Rose official Guns N' Roses album bombing so badly fans hoped for a reunion of the original band line up. Well that seems further away than ever with Axl Rose making a vitriolic attack on legendary axe man Slash where he referred to him as 'a cancer' best removed.

Rose is the only original member of Guns n' Roses still in the and that goes by that name and pundits believe that the only hope for a resurgence in popularity of the band will be a reunion that includes Slash.

Despite the arguments a get together at some point down the line still can't be ruled out in a time when financial pulls might overcome 'artistic' differences.

The handful of optimistic Guns N' Roses fans still holding out for a reunion of the band's classic lineup can probably call it a day.

In a newly published interview, singer Axl Rose describes former bandmate Slash as "a cancer," elevating his distaste for the top-hatted guitarist to a new level.

Rose is the only original member left in Guns N' Roses, whose first studio album in 17 years, "Chinese Democracy," bombed badly last November. Slash quit the band in the mid-1990s, with both sides offering different reasons.

The mercurial singer barely promoted "Chinese Democracy," and has given just a handful of interviews.

If Rose continues to distance himself from the creator of GnR's signature sound, then  nature will take its course, I'm afraid.

"...the vid, where Slash is playing the VC riff. Thousands of screaming fans which recalls of Woodstock..." (Taken from comments on the video on Youtube).

Exactly. This is so sad.

I loved this band when they were fresh, but it just all seems so dated now, and their peurile quarrels mean, I suppose, that either they will do one of those embarrassing old-man reunion tours, or they pack it all in and retire.

I'd prefer the latter, frankly....
