I have learned the value to smile the same way the Filipino’s do its not an art but a state of mind. The world is full of problems mostly caused by the elite society in each and every country. But the biggest culprits are the large international businesses especially those within the oil and energy market place.
Also the elite leaders of religious extremism of all the main ideologies Christian, Catholic, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhism simply can never get on with one another we even see argument between separated cults that have split from the mainstream of the original belief. Politics modeled on ancient Greece model have proved to be as the Philosopher Plato stated corrupt and left open to corruption.
There is ever present racialism between cultures mainly caused by religious or national pride indoctrination by leaders with extremist views that want to control the citizen’s minds and souls.
One third of the world lives a form of civilized organization where the lives of the citizens and families are at an acceptable economical standard. However 50% of the citizens are use to living on credit and many have outstanding debts. The rest of the world is poverty stricken not unlike the country I presently live in. The common factor is the rich in the third world are extremely rich and corrupt and very noticeably so. In the influence West the rich are also extremely rich and those that are also mainly corrupt its not apparent till there is a global crisis.
There are innocent babies, children and thousand on thousand of innocent victims of wars that have been instigated by the elite either for power and wealth or religious extremist belief or all three.
However it would seem that a big wedge of people through out the third world banter and joke and show amazing bright face smiles. They live with their problems and there is nothing else they can do. They even smile and greet those that are much wealthier with respect and kind regards.
Money is the key to success but its not the key to happiness, I have see happiness when I pay a Filipino for services or hard work. I have seen what a smile can do to the despair that often chokes my heart when I see poverty at its very worst.
Yes I am stepping one pace further into mixing my culture with the Filipinos by taking on that same smile and of course the Filipino humor that wades off depression.
It all starts with a smile and also realizing there is little I can really do to nothing much solve the problems of the world, or, the poverty I see around me, I have not the riches to do so nor the power, just one old man who only has the power to address a few people in communities on the internet. We can only do what we can and it’s no good being sad, it’s better to think tomorrow will be a better day, but it’s hard to smile if there is no food on ones table. It will take me a long time to fathom out how many Filipino’s can actually do just that. However I can only return that smile and only help if I can.
