Snooki Gets the Rolling Stone Cover
Snooki is on the cover of Rolling Stone. Is this finally the death of pop culture? Check it out: Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was photographed by Mark Seliger and interviewed by contributing editor Erik Hedegaard. First, the Black Eyed Peas' halftime show. Then Kim Kardashian's new song. Now this.
If The Strokes didn't have a new video, and if Social Distortion didn't have a new album, I'd be forgiven for thinking music culture was down for the count. For now, though, it's definitely on the ropes.
One thing we learn (which we could easily have guessed, I suppose) is that Snooki doesn't like how she's portrayed on Jersey Shore: always drunk and obnoxious. Reality TV is not actual reality, so Jersey Shore's editors have weeks and weeks of nightlife footage from which to pull the most spectacular moments. That said, they can't conjure events out of thin air.
However, with no apparent sense of irony, Snooki tells Hedegaard that she wants to do more Jersey Shore spinoffs. Her showbiz role model: Jessica Simpson. This sound dumb at first, but think about it: how employable would Snooki be in the cubicle world? Of course, there's always professional wrestling, as fellow Jersey Shore castmate Angelina Pivarnick discovered.
