Snoop Dogg has signed a '360 mega-deal' that goes well beyond the scope of a regular record label contract, only he hasn't signed with Live Nation as other big name artists have done, he's signed with MTV.

In the works are a variety television show, forthcoming albums, DVDs, and apparently bringing "hip-hop to Rock Band".

It's going to be all Dogg all the time on MTV. Is this a good fit for Snoop?

Now that his contract with Geffen/Interscope has expired, rap legend Snoop Dogg has followed the likes of Sonic Youth and Radiohead and decided to sign with an independent. Just kidding. He’s actually signed one of those fancy and very expensive “360 deals” with MTV. Similar to U2 and Jay-Z’s relationship with Live Nation, the deal will see Snoop exploring multiple facets with the media giant.

For starters, the Doggfather will be launching a brand new show on the network. Titled Dogg After Dark, the show will take a variety format, including live performances, interviews, and sketch comedy. The show premiers on February 17, though it is unknown whether MTV Canada will be getting the show. Then there’s Snoop’s upcoming album, Malice in Wonderland, which will also be released through the network. Finally, tracks from the album will be made available for download on Rock Band. Synergy, people!

In a statement, Snoop described his meeting with MTV, saying that “a global quintuple threat takeover was masterminded… As the world of entertainment keeps changing, we felt it was the right time to let Snoop Dogg back on MTV so we could continue to run thangs with music, movies, DVDs and bring hip-hop to 'Rock Band.'”

This is the picture when Snoop Dogg was in Argentina, at Personal Fest on December 2007, there you can see the flag of my crew Doggs Crew ( http:www.doggshiphop.com ) on stage, representing all the real doggs around the world!
