His earthly father’s name was Joseph.  He belonged to us all and founded it difficult to give himself to one individual lover. With us, he shared a heavenly Father.  His presence lit up the world. The light he left behind will never go out.  His smile shined so brightly that people in countries near and far, smiled with him. His voice touched our souls with an ancient truth that love is the greatest force in the world. He was and is the brightest of stars, in Hollywood and in Heaven. I did not know him personally but felt a connection; he had that affect on people.

When he sung, “you are not alone, I am here with you”; the lonely felt comforted. Even inmates in a Philippine prison founded escape from their mundane life when they honored the memory of Michael in their Thriller dance. We couldn't turn away as hundreds of prisoners in a prison yard danced in unison to his beat, for a moment they were free.

He reminded us and I will paraphrase some of his songs, that we must make a pact to bring salvation back to the world and to each other. He sung where there is love he will be there. He promised to take our hand and have faith in all we do, if we just call his name.  How many of us have this much faith in our fellow human beings?

His final message to us was to "heal the world, make it a better place for the entire human race". Can't you imagine him moon walking across the sky, hat tilted to the side, white  beaded glove twinkling. The celestial realm smiling in wonder at this star-child. He mission was to spread Love and this he did oh so well. To watch him perform was to understand the meaning of the joy of just being. He was song and dance personified. He gave his all.  Watch any of his performances; see the joy in the faces of his fans. Can anyone really argue that he did not bring light to the world? He was Michael, an angel of light, our angel and no matter the mistakes he may have made; God  has forgiven him for his temporary human condition. Can’t we?  Thank you Michael for sharing your gift with the world. As the world looks back on your life a year after your death, your electrifying presence is truly missed but we know the essence of who you really are will live on forever.  He was the son of Joseph, the one, the only, Michael Jackson.
