Sons of Anarchy Season 5 First Look, Premiere and Start Date
FX officially granted Sons of Anarchy a fifth season today. The news may not be surprising, but it's certainly good to hear. Season 5 will run for 13 episodes, and if history is any indicator, it will debut in September, 2012.
Sons of Anarchy Season 5 premiere spoilers start date air date
Sons of Anarchy, created by outspoken showrunner Kurt Sutter (The Shield), follows a motorcycle club in Northern California as they run guns, sometimes mule drugs, slap around porn stars, and occasionally get married. But don't think it's just a cheap show stuffed to the gills with violence and brotherhood—it's actually one of the better dramas on television today, Emmys be damned.
The series has seven episodes left in its fourth season and airs Tuesdays nights at 10pm on FX.
How do you think Season 4 stacks up to the rest of the series?
‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 5 Hooks Ashley Tisdale and ‘Dexter’ Star
The fuel crunch is getting us all even more nervous, now that so many new faces seem to be riding into FX motorcycle club drama ‘Sons of Anarchy‘s fifth season. We already learned that former ‘NYPD Blue’ star Jimmy Smits and ‘LOST‘s Harold Perrineau would play large, looming roles over the Kurt Sutter series’ fifth outing, but now the ranks have expanded to include…a Disney sweetheart?
DeadLine reports that former ‘High School Musical’ and upcoming ‘Scary Movie 5‘ star Ashley Tisdale has just landed a recurring role in ‘Sons of Anarchy’s fifth season, playing “Emma Jean, a high-priced desirable escort who complicates the club’s life in at least two episodes.” Though only set for two, the role could potentially expand in the future.
Tisdale isn’t the only one recently added to the cast however, as earlier ‘Dexter‘ star Billy Brown will also take a role on the series as August Marks, right-hand man to Harold Perrineau’s major villain character Damon Pope. It remains unknown if Brown’s role means his character Mike Anderson will maintain a reduced presence on the seventh season of ‘Dexter,’ set to debut on Showtime September 30.
Well, hey. If they can make an appearance from David Hasslehoff work, who’s to say a little ‘High School Musical’ will bring down the motorcycle drama?
What say you? Do you think either actor will fit into ‘Sons of Anarchy’s fifth season? What are you most hoping for when Jax, Clay, Gemma, Tara and the boys return for a fifth year? Rev up your thoughts in the comments below!
'Sons of Anarchy' EP Says 7th Season Will Be the Last
Any good show has to come to an end eventuallly, and yes, that includes the beloved "Sons of Anarchy." In fact, it would seem that the show's executive producer, Paris Barclay, already knows when and how the show is going to end, according to some comments he made in an interview with EW.
"I think if you think you know what’s gonna happen at the end of seven seasons, which is currently what we’re planning to do, you’d be wrong," said Barclay. That indicates that the "SOA" team already knows how the series will end, and that it will end after its seventh season.
That gives fans just a few more seasons of enjoyment, as "Sons of Anarchy" season 5 is set to premiere later this year. As for what we can expect from the season 5 premiere, Barclay simply had this to say: "If there's one word to describe the season opener, it's explosive... we're coming out guns blazing."
With Jimmy Smits joining the cast as a gang member and mentor to Jax, and Ashley Tisdale joining as a call girl, things will certainly be interesting in the new season.
