Soulja Boy Death Rumor: Soulja Boy Is Not Dead

Soulja Boy (he of "Crank Dat" fame) is the subject of a Twitter death rumor. A Twitter user called TheBlackStewie (NSFW) tweeted, "#RIPSouljaBoy RT @CNN Atlanta's rapper Deandre Way aka "Soulja Boy" was shot in killed at a local party. Further details soon".

Obviously CNN tweeted no such thing. The death rumor began to cascade from there. The Daily Dot flexed its Storify muscles to put the report of Soulja Boy's demise (which are greatly exaggerated) in narrative form.

This isn't the first time that Soulja Boy has been declared dead. There was a YouTube-based death rumor back in 2008. In fact, we'll use that video to illustrate this story- check it out below.

Those who aren't fans of Soulja Boy's music took the opportunity to dis him, though Ice-T has been silent on the issue so far.

So, Soulja Boy (Deandre West when he's at home) is not dead. Neither is Adam Sandler.
