Soundgarden Choose Guitar Hero, Warriors Of Rock, To Release New Record, Telephantasm

The mantra in the age of the internet is go to where the audiences are don't expect them come to you. So music legends Soundgarden choosing Guitar Hero as their distribution vehicle for their new retrospective Telephantasm is a smart choice.

In the obvious way, it's going to reach a certain amount of younger people that either may or may not know about Soundgarden," frontman Chris Cornell said in a recent interview. "No matter what, I feel like releasing it this way is going to reach a lot of people who have not heard our music or have not heard a lot of it."

Telephantasm is a 12 track CD and will shipped with the 1 million Guitar Hero, Warriors of Rock video games.

The bundle provides instant access to down loadable Soundgarden songs for the game. That same disc goes on sale separately Oct. 5. Also out Tuesday are two deluxe versions, including one with a DVD of all the band's videos, plus rarities.
