Spider-Man 4 Movie Casting: Logan Lerman Not Playing Spider-Man?
Logan Lerman Spider-Man Reboot Casting Not A Sure Thing
It appeared that a new Spider-Man had been chosen when reports last week confirmed that Logan Lerman was "almost 100%" locked up to a deal to play the wall-crawler in the new Spider-Man reboot. But those reports may have been premature, as Sony is now denying that Lerman will play Peter Parker.
The sources at Sony were very clear that Lerman wouldn't be getting the role for the hugely popular super-hero franchise.
insiders at Sony say that the young actor is not getting the role. In fact, these sources were very definitive in denying the story, and were sure that Lerman was 100% not going to be Spidey and that he is not on the list of candidates being seriously considered.
Lerman's name has been tied to the Spider-Man reboot for some time now, and the actor even confirmed that he was in talks for the role a few months ago.
Spider-Man Movie Reboot
Fans of the Spider-Man franchise were mixed when it came to Lerman playing the hero, as he is a relatively unknown actor and much younger than Tobey Maguire, who played the lead in the first three Spider-Man films.
Yet the franchise is being rebooted for its fourth iteration, and reports have said that the film will more closely follow the Ultimate Spider-Man comic books, which feature a Spider-Man still in high school.
Now that Sony is saying Lerman is out, speculation will continue as to who will done the webs for the reboot. The fourth Spider-Man will start shooting later this year, with a July 3rd 2012 release date.
