Stars of "The Hunger Games" Hit Red Carpet for L.A. Premiere
Gathering together for a promotional appearance, the stars of "The Hunger Games" hit the red carpet for their film's Los Angeles premiere on Monday night (March 12).
Held at the Nokia Theatre, at L.A. Live, castmates including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth (with Miley Cyrus), Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Leven Rambin and Donald Sutherland greeted press and posed for pictures ahead of the Gary Ross directed movie's debut screening.
Drawing out plenty of other celebs, the red carpet saw appearances by Shailene Woodley, Kelly Osbourne, Odette Yustman, Leslie Mann, Cody Simpson, Peter Facinelli, Kylie and Kendall Jenner and Miranda Lambert, among others.
Also starring Lenny Kravitz, the drama/sci-fi flick is "set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, with Katniss Everdeen volunteering to take her younger sister's place for the latest match."
Recently talking about what impressed him most about the shoot, Harrelson said, "Every aspect of the production: wardrobe, hair, makeup. When you see what form it takes, it's amazing, unique and totally original. Even a glass is not just a normal glass, they don't do anything normal. When you get to the Capitol, everything is different – even ice! It's pretty cool."
Based on the first novel of the trilogy by Suzanne Collins, "The Hunger Games" is slated to be released on March 23rd.
As a cast member of one of the most-anticipated flicks of the year, Leven Rambin was also in the house last night to promote her new movie's debut screening in L.A.
The “Book of Daniel” babe was more than happy to answer a few questions on the red carpet before heading in to see the screening.
When asked if she had to do any special training for the gig, Leven explained, “Tons. I had to do a lot of strength training, and fight training, and I did a lot of cardio and I lost like fifteen pounds from this, so it was intense.”
Ms. Ramblin also shared that she had no idea this film would be so huge when she auditioned. “No, not really. I was just like, ‘Whoa, cool!’ And now all this has happened, and there’s Miranda Lambert, that’s cool! So I was like, ‘Wow, this is a big deal,’ but we really had no idea. We were just like, ‘Let’s give this a go,’ and we did and we made an amazing film, so we’ll see what happens, I guess.”
The “Winter’s Bone” babe was beside herself with excitement, and she looked amazing in a gold Prabal Gurung gown as she sauntered down the charcoal carpet and talked with the press.
Jennifer revealed, "Right now I'm terrified out of my mind. I feel like a shaking Chihuahua at the door…I'm so out of my mind stressed and excited that I don't know how I feel."
Ms. Lawrence also shared that no matter how famous she gets, she’ll always try to stay grounded. "I'm a girl. I'm never going to look in the mirror and be like ‘Yeah!’…I'm going to look at myself and see my flaws and be like, I had a pimple that day. But that's normal, right?!"
