Stephen Gately Funeral Details: Saturday October 17, Dublin

Stephen Gately's funeral is set to be held this Saturday October 17th at St. Laurence O'Toole's Church in Dublin, even though his body is still currently in Majorca.

Stephen Gately was a member of the Irish boyband Boyzone and he died unexpectedly while on holiday with his partner Andy Cowles of a pulmonary oedema or edema, which is a build-up of fluid on the lungs, and is caused by the failure of the heart to remove fluid from the lungs or it can be caused by an injury to the lung.

Stephen's family is hoping his body will be flown home on Friday; it is currently in the morgue in Calvia near Port Andratx.

X Factor judge and Boyzone manager Louis Walsh has confirmed he will attend the funeral, which means he will miss the X Factor final.

He paid a glowing tribute to the star and remembered him as a "great, great professional".

so sad that boyzone has lost their band member and a wonderful friend, boyzone will never be the same the 5 of them were great in may in dublin stephen was fantastic singin beyonces single ladies u will be truly missed such a shame to see someone die so young rest in peace stephen... lots of love to ur family and ronan mikey shane and keith xx
