Steve Perry of Journey: What?

Steve Perry of Journey better not be dead... whew. Okay. Steve Perry is alive. Then why is his name all over this morning's trending topics? I kinda have no idea. As your loyal Truemorist must keep my ear to the ground, so to speak, even when the signal-to-noise ratio is low. So, no, I have no idea why Journey's lead singer (Journey's real lead singer) is such a hot topic today. Journey played several shows recently, but still.
By the way, I don't care what Steve Perry thinks, he never left Journey! I, for one, won't stop believing.

I agree! ... Steve 'The Voice' Perry is Journey's heart and soul ... Replacements for him are just that ... I got to see the band several times in the 80s, and the time spent is pressed vividly between the pages of my mind ... I hope Steve and the group can get back together - I Won't Stop Believein' ... if not, I hope he will form a group and record ... Miss Ya Steve! ... ...

I have loved Steve Perry ever since I first laid eyes on him. And heard that magnificent voice! No voice can ever sound like Steve Perry. I was listening to a song on the computer the other day that has part Steve Perry and part of the new guy. Sorry new guy in Journey! I think it's Pinada? Anyway my husband who is not a real fan of Steve Like me said as soon as Steve stopped singing and Pinada came on " Oh theres no way he is a s good as Perry! I LOVE YOU STEVE PERRY!! I HAVE A WHOLE ALBUM OF PICTURES OF YOU. When I need a lift, I just look at you and my whole day is bright. It is a shame you are such a private person! But I respect that!! You have every right! I just want to say one more thing. I so wish I could have been your Sherry! I am the same age as you. What a fox you were and are Steve! I cannot believe you never got married! I LOVE YOU BABY! keep rocking Steve. Love Sherry Kivo

My name is Marie Marracino. I have been through some really hard times throughout my life and the only thing that got my through is Steve Perrys music. He is my inspiration and my one true love. To show my appreaciation and devotion to you I had a very great tattoo artist, Teddio here in Pittsburg California tattoo you on my arm and I show you off very proudly every chance I get! I may never get to meet you personally but I would love for you to give me a ring if you can. Sincerly your number one fan,Marie Marracino 925) 565 2102

No,there will never be another Steve Perry ,and there is no Journey without him.. They have not had had a hit without him, he is Journey..Steve Perry is great with, or without Journey. There is no one else whoms voice even comes close to his, he is just one of a kind.I do wish he would come out with something, I miss his voice tremendously....I miss him..

Actually there IS a Journey, and they HAVE had a recent hit last year, After All these Years, and currently have the number 1 music DVD (Live in Manila) on Billboard. Dismiss it if you will but they still tour successfully! Thank you

Holy crap, people! It's not a "shame" that he's such a private person, it's the kind of thing that's either true or it isn't. Clearly it is true, so in my opinion leaving the public life was really brave. Could you walk away from that? Piss everybody off? "Insist upon yourself", as Emerson would have it?I don't want StevePerryofJourney back. That would be sad. I'd love to hear from Steve Perry, human being, current facet forward. Last time he had something to say it was For the Love of Strange Medicine and pretty damn interesting -- I don't think the guy spent his time just sitting around eating bon bons. Some work is harder than writing songs.Steve, where have you been? And I don't mean "Why have you not been out here entertaining us!" but, seriously... where have you been? What have you learned? When you're ready, we'd love to hear about it.

Steve Perry had the most trained, beautiful, soulful, romanitc, emotional, voice of our time. He is just now getting reconized for that!!! Why it took so long is beyond me! He belongs in the ahll of fan and we need to raise more stink abought that. There are so many undeserving one hit woinders getting in and look at the hits Perry had with and without Journey ugh it makes my blood boil!! Any way Steves talent does not go unnoticed. Perry fan forever, Carol Sue Burnett

Just the other day, I chanced upon a youtube video (or rather audio) featuring Journey's concert in 1980 at the Houston Summit and the song played was Winds of March. Steve Perry's vocal performance was A++, and I had goose bumps just listening to it. Definitely one of the best vocalist and musical stylist. I wish I could bump into SP one of these days, but that is highly unlikely since I live in Malaysia. Thanks to youtube, his legacy lives on.

Can anyone who actually is in the business verify that Steve Perry really is working on a new album for release in 2010? He gave an interview in July 2009 that indicated that he is working on new music-but no info about release dates. Other sites have indicated that he is recording in Groh's studio in LA, with Russ Miller, the Drummer's site saying that he was working on Steve Perry's album back in January. Please, anyone in the know, is this really happening? I'm ready to flash the cash to reserve anything that man records, no matter what the genre, format, or venue!

I have always loved Journey as band, but with the front man Steve Perry only....Who else could belt out songs like "Faithfully" and Open Arms with so much passion...... By the way I wish I was Sherrie....lucky girl to have loved Steve, only to break his heart in two......Man, I would of taken good care of him and his heart...... I will always be in awe of Steve Perry and his God given talent and his voice...Wow! Yes, I have gone to Journey's concert when Steve was their frontman and yes they sounded GREAT!......

Tammy, I am with you on your comment. How could Sherrie walk away from a man like him! But I guess since we don't know how one really is behind the music man we could never know what happened! Does anyone know how old his daughter is? I think she should be in her 30's and does he have a granddaughter? I thought I read that somewhere. Does he even have a girlfriend, someone to love and care for and to care for him? Geesch one only knows the real anwers. I can't believe he is 60. I thought I saw a clip of him and he is working on a song and did my eyes see right or wrong in the interview that his hair is very long and down his back, during a clip it looked as tho he has very long hair. May be eyes! But would love it if he had a current website and kept up on his life since alot of people would love to know about him, but we can only wish. Take care to all of the Steve Perry and Journey lovers and enjoy the holidays coming up! cathy
