NP Rank:
Steven Tyler To Quit Aerosmith
Steven Tyler, the front man of the legendary rock band Aerosmith, is rumoured to be leaving Aerosmith after 40 years together. Aerosmith's guitarist Joe Perry said that Steven Tyler has apparently quit and will leave the band. The last concert that the band played together took place in Abu Dhabi. Perry says Tyler is not returning his phone calls, so the band can't confirm Tyler's departure for sure. He also said the band's relationship with Tyler has been quite tense lately.
On November 10, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry confirmed on his Twitter profile that Aerosmith is not breaking up. He said, “Aerosmith is definitely NOT breaking up. One of the members is doing his own thing and said so in the press. That's all I know.” He also hinted that Aerosmith might be looking for a new front man – “Aerosmith is positivly looking for a new singer to work with. You just can't take 40 years of experience and throw it in the bin!”
During an interview with the Las Vegas Sun, Perry said, “Steven quit as far as I can tell, I don’t know anymore than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don’t know.”
Steven Tyler himself said he was not yet sure what to do in the future in an interview to Classic Rock magazine.
“I don’t know what I’m doing yet, but it’s definitely going to be something Steven Tyler: working on the brand of myself — Brand Tyler,” he told Classic Rock magazine.
Just recently, Aerosmith had to cancel some of their tour concerts due to a stage accident involving Tyler. The singer fell off the stage during a concert in South Dakota on August 5.

I bet they'll select a new lead singer via a reality show.

I always though that Todd Rundgren should have been the lead singer and the father of Liv . . . .
